My gifted associate Clarence is leaving my employ at the end of June.
My shop is located about 25 miles north of Santa Fe, in a beautiful part of
the country. The business is not pottery, but rather slip-cast production
of light fixtures.
The dream candidate will be experienced with clay but very interested in
learning more. A strong work ethic should accompany an awareness that
working smart gets more done. A good sense of humor and supervisory
experience and/or ability would be useful. Finally, he or she should be
cursed with an obsessive desire to make ever-better ware ever more
Ideal specific skills: manual dexterity, good aesthetic judgement --
whatever that is!, experience in slipcasting, gas firing, glaze-spraying,
Extras: The studio is well-equipped and a perquisite would be full use of
all equipment during personal time. We fire production ware regularly to
^04 oxidation and I am working on production-worthy ^6R results as time
allows. I am a fair moldmaker and can show what I know in that department
as opportunity arises.
If you are interested please give me a call at 800-889-7109 daytimes.
