Hi All!
I was pleased last week to come in to school and see that after
four and a half years of begging for a gate to secure my
kilnyard, a couple of the maintenance staff were taking the
intitiative and installing one. (What great guys!)
My one concern is that it looks a bit unfriendly after having a
big open walkway. I've decided to throw a large platter and post
the studio hours so we don't look to antisocial.
Anyone got any suggestions for clay body and mounting the
platter? I was going to put holes in it to bolt it to the wall,
but I want to be sure I allow for the wild swings of temperature
and weather we get here in Eastern Washington. I'd hate for it to
crack one night when it freezes!
Erin.

Hi Erin:
Here in Colrado we do a largish amount of "outside" pieces. Depending on
the fired stoneware that you prefer, we use Laguna's Amador, Slab and
Sculpture or Soladate. All are /\ 10 and have a great ability to hang
together and not crack in our temp extreams.
