Ron:
This glaze has been around for a long time.... I got it at college a
long time ago....
Oatmeal
potash feldspar 36
spodumene 14
dolomite 25
colmanite 5 (sub. gerstly borate)
kaolin 20
zircopax 5
I fired this to ^10 in a gas kiln. Mottled creamy kinda-toupe-tannish
brown... flows where double-dipped and more cream colored. Kinduv a
satin sheen. Very nice, very durable. One of my all-time favorites.

I altered the Warren Mc Kenzie glaze as published in the book about his
work. I use it thinly applied to let the iron spitouts get through. It
looks more like real oatmeal if it is thicker. it should be applied to
avoid drips as they do show. It is a forgiving glaze and seems to fit most
stonewares. Best over red or Soldate
Donald in the hot and humid San Fernando Valley. If you live in the east,
it really isn't humid by your standards, but its dam wet for the desert
