new info on copyrights.

Copyright seems to be of interest here and there are two new items that
people should be aware of. First, those of you who do freelance writing
for our favorite pubs (Mel, Ivor, Chris, Tony, etc.) should follow this
case in the US Supreme Court. (I know that this is an international list
and some of you are not residents of the US, though the publications for
which you write are available here and so are covered.)

This case involves freelance writers who sold their work for one time
publication in a magazine and then found their works freely available on
the Internet at sites not owned by the magazine in quesiton.

The second is:

"A Guide to Copyright For Music Librarians
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
This online resource from the Music Library Association outlines key
developments and new policy in copyright law. Although geared toward music
libraries, arts organizations will be interested in the sections devoted to
copyright in the digital age. Visit this resource at:
."

Both references are from Open Studio Weekly Digest, a free service of Open
Studio: The Arts Online ().
