I have found that either wiping with a damp to wet sponge or complete
rinsing of a bisque piece, to get all the dist off is important to good
glaze coverage. I dip my stuff into a bucket of water and set aside until it
doesn’t “look” wet anymore. It has the pores open, so to speak, and takes
the glaze nicely. I fire to ^6, ox.
Good luck.
