What a lovely description Joyce, same thing happens to me all the time,=20
my own capacity for self-deception astounds me sometimes,
switch from "what a lousy potter you are" to "oh, this is not so bad =
after all",=20
difficult to judge without outside input.=20
When I'm getting fed up will do some slabbing,
eventually got quite reasonable pots out of it.
Tried to do large plates a while back,
couldn't do them, tried and tried,
thought this is useless,
until my tutor suggested to use clay
straight from pugmill,=20
very soft,
plates need only very slight touch.
