Thank you Beth,

for the glaze formula cone 9-10 range but I should have included in my
original post...searching for something without Colemanite (which I don't
have) or Gerstely borate....same problem. Unless I get around to retesting
some of the subs again? I have had two sessions with that but has been on
hold again along with many other chores. :)

I am getting ready to fire a glaze kiln and a client wants a blue tea
set. Does anyone have a nice purple/ and or blue matte that they would
like to share? (cone 9 gas reduction on stoneware and porcelain) I will
also check out the archives.
Thanks

Emily Purple is nice. Here it is from the archives:

Here's a ^9 "Emily G. Purple" I used to use 15 years ago. Maybe
it is the same one you are looking for. It has a wonderful buttery
texture and is very purple.

Potash Feldspar 410.0
Colemanite 120.0
Dolomite 70.0
Talc 150.0
Tenn. Ball Clay 50.0
Flint (Silica) 200.0
_______
1000.0 gms
Cobalt Oxide 2%
Bentonite 2%
Tin 2%

This glaze is loaded with Magnesium oxide - and the alumina and silica
levels are not that high - so just in case - if you are using it where it
can come in contact with food -

Wash it well (degrease) and leave some vinegar in it for 24 hours (leave
some part untreated so you can compare - wash it - make sure it's
completely dry and check for colour loss.

This is a test for a really unstable glaze.

Better you should know before your customers.
