I've always been on the "artist" end of things
gallery-wise, and now that I'm opening up a gallery of
my own, it seems so black and white. When the work of
an artist reaches my hands, I am responsible for
anything that happens to it until it walks out the
door with a customer. If your gallery is insured, then
perhaps artist work could be covered in that. It
sounds like the gallery is very political, which makes
it very fair to some, and very unfair to others. Best
