Hi All,
I had a wonderful day in my studio, signs of summer all around...good
and bad news in Florida. As I was throwing, my mind wandered to all the
people responsible for setting me on my potting path.
The first person to ever tell me it was OK to get my hands muddy (I
was fresh out of the nursing program and you know how anal they are about
that!) was my first pottery teacher, Prof. Horst Wert, at Corning C.C., NY.
I really felt moved to write him and thank him for showing me the fork in the
road. It is only now that I realize the genius of his work and his excellent
teaching, especially the basics...one technique at a time until it was done
correctly. No shortcuts.
So, I set about to find him...no longer at Corning. This is a long
shot, I know, but is anyone familiar with him or know of his whereabouts?
Thanks, Cher Hoffman
