Update:

Several days ago I asked the group about rebisquing a
kiln load that had not reached temp..... with my very
fist art show just a few days away.

I received several responses, and I'd like to thank
you for that!

but heres the update: One very wise clayarter
suggested that maybe I should check to make sure my
kiln was working properly. I guess I should have
realized that on my own, but I hadn't and he was
correct. My kiln goes to the shop this week. Only
the bottom ring was working properly. The middle ring
was working, but not correctly, and the top wasn't
working at all.

now for best part! the art show update!
This was a regional (Northeast Kansas) show,
supporting the Nortonville Kansas Public Library. It
was part of Nortonville's Fall Festival... Parade,
Band, Dance, etc. While you could sell, it wasn't
really anything but an art show.

This was my very first show, and I was quite nervous.
But I have to admit that i was the only
wanna-be-a-potter there, which gave me a great shot at
winning a ribbon in the pottery category (yea!
first!;-)

There were approximately 16 artists from all over
Northeast Kansas. Some with lots of experience, some
with less. But here's the exciting part. I won
third place overall! Can't hardly believe it!

(thanks again for all the rebisquing advice! I don't
plan on rebusquing those pieces, but I'll test
first... that is, when my kiln comes home again!)
