Hi, I would like some recommendations of a good beginners book for Wheel
Throwing. Something that has great pictures and covers the basics of
throwing, decorating, glazing and firing.

Also, any recommendations for websites that might have turorials or video
clips, or even a video recommendation. If you are the author, so much the
better.

thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

I like Jepsons videos for throwing. Do a Google search for "Jepson
Pottery". Good luck, and have fun!!

Hi, Mike,

I highly recommend Don Davis's "Wheel Thrown Ceramics." It shows
step-by-step ways to throw specific forms, an excellent beginner's book.

A more complete book is Robin Hopper's "Functional Pottery." This book is
also well illustrated, with lots of "how to" tips.

Best of luck.

I like the Don Davis book and his video best. Straightforward info.

My two current favorite throwing books are Thrown Pottery Techniques
Revealed by Mary Chappelhow and The Art of Throwing by Alex McErlain. And I
agree with all the other recommendations also.
