looking for a old cm

I had a Ceramics Monthly which I somehow lost and am trying to find now.
It would probably have been around the second half of 2001 but I could
have bought an older one also It had an article about a woman who made
pots ;-) OK OK - she made pots with elaborate handles - pulled with bits
of clay decorations. Tall artistic - the pots - I don't remember what
she looked like..... Her comment was she had tried to go into production
mode and could not spent less time on her handles. The other thing she
did was use a torch (as in flame not flashlight) to firm up the handles
as she worked. If this rings a bell with anyone and they have that issue
could you please tell me which one it is. Also if that potter has a
website that you know of could you point me to her?

Thanks a lot!
Linda
In Sunny (for now) Seattle, WA, USA - still on a high after managing to
fit the last of my pots for an upcoming show into the kiln last night!
(Anyone doing Undiscovered Potters Show in Redmond, WA?)

I cannot confirm this, as my copy is out on loan, but I think the article
you refer to is about Cat Jaosz's work, and is in ClayTimes publication. I
think it is Sept/Oct 01 issue. MarjB

Could that have been the Clay Times article about Cat Yarosz? Beautiful
pots in tans and greens - it was in the Jul-Aug 02 Clay Times. Luscious
pots.

yes Cat- You are the person I remember! I somehow lost that issue of
Clay Times - Sept/Oct 2001 - I was traveling for work a lot then, I
probably wore it out! I found another copy today at Seattle Pottery
Supply. I wish I could ask you a question and have whatever answer you
give make me able to make handles as creative as yours...... But no I
wanted some pictures of your work - I knew I loved your handle style but
could not remember the details.... Thanks for the inspiration!

Whoops, sorry, Cat and Linda, correction, Sept/Oct 2001 Clay Times - I
looked again and I see that July/Aug 02 was the expiration issue on my
address label, not the date of the issue! Anyway, it's great, whatever
issue it was in. Hopefully I didn't waste anyone's time with the wrong
info.
