installing 208 3 phase in 240 building- advice needed

To all the experienced kiln people out there....=20
I have a Skutt with a digital controller bought for a 208 3 phase =
building and have had to move to a 240 (I think single phase).=20

I discussed this with one electrician who seemed to think I would have =
to install a transformer.
I then discussed this with a kiln technician ) who said it would not be =
necessary (it would be if i were going the other way) but that I would =
need to have the 3 phase configuration rewired to single phase. (I also =
asked him to recommend an electrician experienced in kilns)

Does this seem to make sense? Please let me know. I am anxious to get =
on with it but want to do it right the first time.

Also, I have a 2nd smaller kiln and would like to hook them to the same =
breaker box. I dont expect to run them at the same time so would =
probably just install a 60 amp box versus a 100 (unless of course the =
difference in marginal). Am I being short sighted?. Oh and lastly... I =
may end up with a clothes dryer on the same box....=20
All your thoughts on said subject would be really helpful...Thanks bev

Bev, you should ask Skutt if your kiln can be converted to single phase,
240 v. It probably can. If so, they can send you a wiring diagram.

I'm not sure what you meant in your discussion of the circuit wiring. I
do recommend an electric cut-off near the kiln. It should be located
between the kiln and the doorway (rather than away from the doorway in a
corner of the room).

Sincerely,
