Does anyone know of a source for electric power meters in the US? I need to
record the kw/h usage by kiln load for costing purposes. Since there will
be multiple kilns and various types for firings, I'd prefer actual readings
to approximations
Thank you, Mike

Hi Mike,
I'd call up scrap dealers, 'recyclers', junk dealers,
Machinery scrappers and the like...
I see them now and then, here and there...older 'meters'...
That or just mosy down the alley and elect one as will not
be missed...
Or if 'missed', would as a matter of course be replaced by
the powercompany anyway, anxious for their revenue...
Hell...maybe pull your own meter as is for your address, and
then report it 'missing'...they'll come out quick enough and
put a new one in...
Doncha think?
Or if you like, when you are done with your 'studies'...just
send it back saying you 'found it'...

Mike, have you checked with your local utility company? Some will
actually come out and hook one up for you, along with a recorder so
that you can get actual measurements. The service is free, or minimal cost
because of the Energy Star programs they all run. Just a phone call away.

Mike:
Try getting a free multi search engine search tool like Copernic Agent [
http://www.copernic.com/en/products/agent/index.html ]
and do a web search.

These guys have had KWH meters in the past.
Also they have had 12v propane solenoid valves new for very cheap(I got
the ones for my flame throwing pipe organ here), thermocouple lead
wire, nichrome.
They normally stock all sorts of relays and motors.
