So, I have written so many times about my combination. One thing I
forgot to write about, shame on me!
The second layer is easily peeling off!
I give the recipes here without the analysis because of a reason I shall
explain later on.
Layer one:
The original base was:
I do only^6 ox!!!!!
glaze #27 of Yehuda Koren to 1200C (^5)
Feldspar Soda F7 35.00
Quartz 26.00
Barium Carbonate 9.00
kaolin CC31 5.00
zinc oxide 10.00
Calcium Carbonate 13.00
Bentonite 2.00
Which I changed, immediately into 7 strontium carbonate - or 9 whiting.
The second layer I made using the glaze from PMI I think of... sorry
Mel, Emanuel Cooper, am I right the way I write?
Speckled blue gray
==========
Gerstley Borate 20.00
Nepheline Syenite 20.00
frit 3110 15.00
ball clay AK 15.00
Quartz 30.00
Cobalt Oxide 3.00
Red Iron Oxide 1.50
Titanium Dioxide 5.00
Later on I made a different version that appeared in the PMI.
Because this glaze of Yehuda Koren has hardly any kaolin I made it again
(using strontium of course) with more kaolin.
SILICA 31.50
Calcium Carbonate 12.00
ENGLISH KAOLIN CC31 13.50
ZINC OXIDE 10.00
Nepheline Syenite 10.00
STRONTIUM CARBONATE 7.00
FRIT 3110 16.00
For the second layer I used in the article a different recipe too
however because I have enough GB I moved back to the one I write.
After the second layer is dry, the most delicate finger touch removes
the glaze ( second layer)
Is that clear?
Any suggestion?
Do I need one poor of clay and the other rich?
Would only CMC will do the work?
I prefer not to use it as in smell after some days.
Thank you

Hey Ababi,
I don't know if your question has already been answered yet or not
(still going through clayart from the weekend), BUT I just read in Robin
Hopper's _The Ceramic Spectrum_ that with multiple glaze applications,
waiting too long to put the second glaze on can encourage flaking as can
putting a high-clay glaze over one that will have less shrinkage. How's
that for coincidence, my friend?

Yes the so far answer is that the second layer (...If I am not a liar)
must be with as less as possible fresh clay.
I made a test yesterday and it did not peel off- what will be after the
fire - I shall tell you at the proper time.
