Thank You everyone for your responses...Ive had my kiln for about 6 months now and I am still learning A LOT..When I bought my kiln I had taken a few classes at a ceramic shop just to learn to use it and I told her what I wanted to do and she sold me some cones for what I wanted to do..I never really looked into the different cone numbers and I didnt even realize that there was a 03 and a 3...Im glad I asked! Again..thank you so much!

Hi Cherie,
Bisque temperature measured in Orton cone numbers would contain a 'zero' as in oh three, ^03~2014*F/1101*C (Large, regular). The zero is an important #. Depending on your clay body, say if you are bisquing stoneware, ^03 should be fine. The higher the temp (^03 is hotter than the standard bisque cone ^04) the less acceptable the bisquit ware is to absorption of the raw glaze. In this case we are talking less than 100* in difference. Cones come in different sizes as well.....and with sizes come different temperatures. And too, there is a big difference
between ^03 and ^3......whole different set of numbers there.
Peace,
Pamela
