Hi Gang !
Since we don't have any blood family to ask this question I figured my "clay family" was my next best hope to ask this question.
Is there anyone who might be willing to put up two people one cat & one very sweet normally indoor dog( who thinks she's a cat) outside of Fl. maybe in the Alabama / Georgia area ? If possable we would like to keep the cat in a cool place. The dog can be watered down to keep her cool & we do have a tent to sleep in. This is our first hurricane evac so we don't quite know what to expect but we're getting ready anyway. You can call us at:
(772) 873-0679 if you are able to help. I will be online all day today between loading the moving truck & putting up storm shutters . We're not totally sure we'll have to beat feet yet BUT we're NOT taking any chances & it sure would be nice to have a place to go rather than hoping to find a motel that will take pets. We just moved across the country doing that & we know it's not as easy a thing to find as it sounds sometimes.
Thanks for any help & hope to hear from sombody soon. One way or the other we will probably be leavingThursday morning if we need to leave.
Keep your fingers crossed!

If you are running from this hurricane make sure you have a battery powered
radio, possibly one with the weather alert feature and do not inadvertantly
drive into the path of the storm.I am in central South Carolina and we do not
know if we will be in the path or not at this point but do not rule it out.I
would be willing to do anything I can possibly do for any CLAYARTERS
EVACUATING.CONTACT ME ONLINE AND I WILL SEE WHAT WE CAN ARRANGE.

Hi Clayart Friends,
We too are new to South Florida, and more than a little nervous right now. I have begun to make preparations, and just braved Wal Mart (and survived) to get some big plastic bins for treasured stuff. I had made some arrangements for Charley, but realized I had forgotten a lot. We are getting ready to board up with 11 4x8's, because we have no storm shutters on this home that we have barely unpacked, since moving in, a month ago . Then we hightail it out of here, probably tomorrow early, for parts unknown, but definitely north. It's amazing to realize how many very important papers, photos, mementos you have until you start to think how devastated you'd be without them. How much stuff can you cram into the car? I am realizing that braving the snow was NOT that bad, definitely preferrable to a monster like Frances.(I didn't call it that, the weather man did!) Looking outside now, you'd never believe it's on its way. Sunny, 86 degrees, birds singing. I am in the process of backing up
all my photos to discs.....at least those will be safe in my purse. Two favourite mugs ready to take with me....we have to stay civilized here! Good luck to everyone, I am praying it will take a sharp turn to the north east, but knowing that's not likely. Got my water, got bandaids, got mugs.
Keep good thoughts, Mary K.....

Also be sure and take food, water, and toilet paper with you. My friend
Patti was stuck in traffic for 9 hours last time--fortunately she had the
foresight to make certain she had supplies, because in the wake of the
devastation, nothing was open.

Logan (and others who might travel with pets, just for future reference--),
There is a website http://www.takeyourpet.com/ that has a subscription service and listings of lodging across the country that allows pets. I've used it several times; the subscription fee is quite reasonable - $12 or $13 per year. It has been worth the fee to be able to find a way to take our animal/s with us when we travel.
My heart and prayers go out to you and the rest of the folks getting whammied again by this next storm system.....
