Hi Marianne,=20
I made my raku kiln out of a galvanized trashcan and some ceramic fiber =
and a weed burner. It cost under $100 to make and works great! I rigged =
it between a couple of poes, with a counter weight so I can easily hoist =
it up to get the ware out.
I like it because I don't have to reach inside a hot kiln. And because =
it was cheap and easy :(
Has been working for about 4 years now.

Subject: WANTED Old Small Electric Kiln Can be Not Working
I live in Peterborough, Ontario and can drive about an hour in any =
direction.
Looking for a small, old electric kiln to convert into a RAKU kiln. So =
I don't care if the elements don't work.

Thanks, Cathi. That sounds like a great idea! I may do just that.

Marianne;
did you find your kiln yet? If not, please contact me; I haven't done
anything with the one I just bought, and if you're ready to move ahead,
then I might be willing to sell you mine (for the price I paid, which
was small). However, you might have to let me see your resulting raku
kiln later on, and you might have to share some of your knowledge with
me. ;)
Best Regards,
Steven

Hi Stephen,
Yes, I have now found a kiln. Someone was nice enough to give me a lovely
old electric Dynakiln. The inside dimensions are 15"x15"x15" so it should do
me alright.
