To anyone in New York, particularly Brooklyn, who needs help with doctors'
visits or medications, I say this in the January/February 2006 edition of Health
magazine. Here is the exact quote from the magazine:
"Because unpredictable incomes make insurance unaffordable for many artists,
Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, offers creative types a $40 credit
for every hour they volunteer to paint lobby murals or teach art to young
patients. A 1-hour credit covers up to 4 prescriptions or a doctor's appointment
(with lab work) at New York's low-cost hospitals."
I hope this is of interest or help to someone. I know nothing more about it,
no longer live in New York, and just read it in the magazine. I would assume
anyone who is interested could get more information form Woodhull Hospital.
