I am looking for a summer workshop that would be one or two weeks long
during July or early August. Right now I'm not locked into it being
only in the U.S. Of course, it all depends on cost and the time. I've
got some frequent flyer points which would help me out - possibly if
anything is available! I know of most of the workshops within driving
distance of Atlanta (John C Campbell, Penland, Arrowmont). If any of
you know of something or have recommendations for one you have taken in
the past, please let me know.
Thanks. Beth Wallace

All of the places you mention are good ones, and you
might add the Appalachian Center for Crafts. They
have a great workshop season generally, and their
facilities are terrific. So is the setting.
There will be an issue of Ceramics Monthly with
a huge list of workshops - I think it is the April issue.
Watch for it.

Ooh Beth, you listed those places within driving distance of Atlanta and you
left us out? We have a wonderful 10-week program of workshops at the
Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville, TN, about two hours northwest of
Chattanooga. We get some of the best presenters in the country. I realized
that I have not posted the 2007 schedule on Clayart yet, so I will do that
in a separate posting.
Our facility is pretty spectacular, located on a wilderness tract on Center
Hill Lake, about 60 miles east of Nashville. The studios are spatious, the
housing is comfortable, and the cafe is excellent.
